Dr. Brent Bellotte completed his ophthalmology training from Texas Tech University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Prior to that, he graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University,then remained in his home state to receive his medical degree from

West Virginia University School of Medicine. At that time, he graduated in the top 10% of the class with honors in nearly every medical specialty.

His recent accomplishments include being chosen as the prestigious Chief Resident of Ophthalmology, and being honored with the coveted Grand Rounds Presentation Award from Texas Tech University in 2004.

His past achievements include receipt of the Award of Excellence from West Virginia University School of Medicine for outstanding class rank. He also received the acclaimed Peggy Preston Tertiary Scholarship, the Hurlbutt Memorial Endowment, and was awarded the Spurlock Fellowship. Additionally, he was elected as a judge for the Van Liere Research Convocation.

On a more personal note, Dr. Bellotte and Dr. Habash attended medical school together, and got married upon graduation. They continued their residency training together, having the honor of being the first couple in the history of the national ophthalmology matching process to receive acceptance at the same institution at the same time. Furthermore, Dr. Bellotte is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration as a Licensed Pilot, and is a member of the SCCA automobile racing and sanctioned track events program.






Dr. Ranya Habash is the newly-elected President of the Palm Beach County Ophthalmology Society and was recently named as a Board Member for the Florida Society of Ophthalmology. Dr. Habash also holds prestigious leadership positions on the Steering Committee for the Eye Physicians

of Florida ophthalmology network, the Surgical/Anesthesia Committee for West Boca Medical Center, and the Advisory Committee for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.  Furthermore, she is one of only a handful of ophthalmologists who have been invited to speak at the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s National Convention.

Dr. Habash completed her ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, where she was elected President of all medical departments at Texas Tech and worked closely with the hospital administration as their representative.  Prior to medical school, she graduated with honors from Wake Forest University, then returned to her home state to receive her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, where she served as President of her medical school class.  She also held the title of National President for the American College of International Physicians Youth Organization.

On a more personal note, Dr. Habash and Dr. Bellotte attended medical school together, and were married upon graduation. They continued their residency training together, having the honor of being the first couple in the history of the national ophthalmology matching process to receive acceptance at the same institution at the same time. As the former captain of the Wake Forest University Club Tennis Team, Dr. Habash is an avid tennis player and athlete. She is also accomplished in classical piano and performing arts, having won various awards for her talent.
